As I mentioned before, I haven't noticed any issue with UI element with the player, but I do not know if downgrading the software to 1.7 will affect the R3 2022 in the long term but I will report back if I encounter any issues. In fact, I feel that the performance of the device in loading albums from an artist is snappier than before because this was another major concern of mine of this music player. Īlso, concerning the performance of the software above is 1.7 (modified to exceed 20,000 track) and while the firmware is older, but I haven't noticed any major difference between this software and 2.2 (leaked version from Feb.). This solved a major problem I have with this music player. I decided to retag the music on my micro sd card (not my backup files) to replace the 'artist' tag with 'album artist' since this player cannot recognize album artist. The reason I am commenting on this thread is because I know a few in this thread and on reddit have mentioned the dissatisfaction with lack of album artist option with the R3. I found this software on github and it can be installed similar to an official Hiby update. So yesterday, I decided to look into older firmware to exceed the 20,000 track limit on the Hiby R3 2022. Sucks to use more of the phone's battery and lose a lot of good features, but this is better than suffering with bad performance on an expensive product. I think I'll sell this DAP and only use my smartphone with a dongle. The hardware cannot handle even these simple tasks. Other views are unusable if it display lots of songs or albums.
